FAQ

Questions boat owners ask us.

Straight answers about moving a boat by road across the Baltic, the Nordics, and Europe. Don't see yours? Ask us — we reply within 24 hours.

How much does boat transport cost?

It depends on the boat’s length, beam, and weight, the route, and whether the load needs oversize permits or a pilot escort. Send us the dimensions, pickup and delivery locations, and your dates, and we’ll come back with a quote — usually within 24 hours.

What size of boat can you transport?

We move boats up to 24 m long on extendable low-loader trailers. Smaller hulls can go on a pickup-and-trailer combination for tight sites. For wide or heavy boats we arrange the permits and escort vehicles the route requires.

Which countries do you cover?

Most of our jobs run between boatyards and marinas in the Baltic and Nordic region — Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, Riga, Klaipėda — with regular runs to Germany, the Netherlands, France, the Adriatic, and the Mediterranean. We quote anywhere in the EU, plus the UK, Norway, and Switzerland.

Can you move a boat between Estonia and Finland or Sweden?

Yes — Baltic–Nordic moves are our most common work. We plan the whole route door to door, including the ferry crossing, and coordinate lifting with the yards or marinas at both ends.

I bought a boat abroad. Can you bring it home?

Yes. We collect from the seller’s yard or marina — Germany and the Netherlands are common — and deliver to your home marina or storage. We prepare the CMR transport documents for the cross-border trip.

Can you transport a boat to or from Norway?

Yes. Norway, like the UK and Switzerland, is outside the EU, so the boat crosses a customs border. We handle the CMR and cross-border customs paperwork for the transport; any import VAT or duty is settled with customs by the owner.

Does the mast need to come down?

For road transport the mast is normally unstepped. It travels on mast trestles alongside the hull, and we time the mast removal and lift with the marina so the boat is ready when the truck arrives.

Do I need my own cradle?

If your boat has a yard cradle, it can travel with the boat. If not, we bring our own keel cradles and padded V-supports matched to the hull. Racing yachts and classic boats get cradles tuned to their hull shape.

Who arranges oversize permits and escort vehicles?

We do. Convoi exceptionnel permits, route surveys including bridge clearances, and the pilot escort vehicle are all handled in-house. You hand us the boat; we hand it back at the destination.

Is my boat insured during transport?

Yes. Every transport is covered by CMR carrier’s liability and cargo insurance. Ask us for the details for your specific load when you request a quote.

Can you move a shrink-wrapped boat to winter storage?

Yes. Shrink-wrapped and tarpaulin-covered winter moves are routine for us, as is end-of-season repositioning between yards. Several cruisers can travel on one flatbed with separate cradles.

How far in advance should I book?

As soon as you know your dates. Spring launch and autumn haul-out are the busiest times in the Baltic and Nordic boating calendar, so earlier bookings get the best choice of dates. Quotes usually come back within 24 hours.
